Geoanalytical Resources at Wits Geosciences

The School of Geosciences at Wits University has a broad spectrum of geoanalytical equipment available for many different research projects spanning the Earth Sciences. The Earth Observatory, where these instruments and laboratories are located, represents one of Africa’s most well-equipped geoscience research facilities. Equipment ranges from the foundation instruments such as high-resolution full thin section scanning microscopes and XRF-ICPMS solution-based instruments to unique metal-free isotope laboratories, automated mineral analyzers (TIMA) and state-of-the-art laser ablation and solution multicollector ICPMSs. Each instrument or lab is imaged above. For more, click here.
